If you're on a tight budget and don't need a stroller that can double as car seat carriers the Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It has a flip-flop friendly one-step footbrake.

It's also easy to push and feels sturdy when navigating kerbs or woodland pathways. Plus, it's a dream to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned a name as the most lightweight buggy for city dwellers and jet-setters alike, due to its extremely nimble handling and foldable design that can be tucked away in the overhead luggage of aeroplanes. The most recent version comes with independent suspension on all four wheels constructed of Hytrel elastomer. This allows it to 'perfectly navigate all terrains and types'.

The bent fabric bassinet, the base YOYO2 frame and 6months of colour pack are combined to create a stylish pushchair with a delicate elegant look. The base frame alone weighs less than a kilo and is so light that you can easily lift it out of the box (and do so one-handed).

It's also easy to attach or remove adaptors or attachments like the hood for example, snaps onto the YOYO2 with reassuring clicks and is machine washable to remove stains from smushed rice cakes and half-dissolved carrot puffs. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as prams. It can also be transformed into a stroller at 6 months with the YOYO connect other chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a great choice for parents who want an adaptable stroller wagon. The Evenflo Xplore can be transformed from a stroller into the wagon by turning the handle. Parents can then choose which one is the best single travel stroller fit for their adventure. The wagon can fit one or two children from 6 months to five years old. It has a huge storage basket that can accommodate all your necessities on the go.

The Xplore also has two canopies that rotate from front to back, providing ample sun protection for all family members. It also has a footwell that is not as large or deep as other wagons, so it may not be ideal for long-distance excursions or for napping.

The frame on the Xplore feels sturdy and solid but it doesn't have as much flex as some of the other wagons we tested. It is also more difficult to fold than many of the competitors and does not close tightly when folded. It is easy to maneuver however, and is able to fit through narrow 28 inches doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents who are seeking a second stroller that is affordable. It scored a dazzling score in our Strollers and Multiples test for weight and folded size that means it's lightweight, small when collapsed and easy to put into a trunk of a car or closet. It also has an adjustable recline seat that can be adjusted in multiple positions and cup holders for the parent. Other features of note include 360-degree shock absorbing front wheels as well as two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling.

It did better in our push and turn test than a lot of the strollers we tested, but was still difficult to maneuver over uneven terrain or through narrow doors. The sunshades on it were among the smallest of all strollers we tested. They only cover the top, and do not have peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a more extensive canopy.

The Delta took us just under 3 minutes to put together using an average manual and no components required tools. It is missing certain features we believe are essential in a double stroller. These include an extra-large basket, reclining seats and leg rests that can be adjusted.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi's newest pushchair that is advertised as a travel system for urban use. It can be used from birth until 3.5-years-old. The seat and carrycot can be converted easily with only a few clicks. It is compatible with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a light Mico 30 infant seat, a stay-in car-base and reversible carriage.

The seat can be reclined with one hand and the large shopping basket makes it easy for parents to take their child in and out. This compact pushchair can handle everyday bumps and doorways effortlessly.

The front wheels are able to be locked in a forward position, or they can pivot. This is helpful in rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to swivel while walking along an uneven path. It was able to handle this well, though it did seem to be a bit bumpier.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is most well-known for its 3-wheeled all-terrain, strollers for jogging. But they also manufacture a vast selection of pushchairs with four wheels. The City Tour 2 is one of their most popular models. It folds easily and fits easily into the boot of a car even with an attached carrycot.

It's a bit heavier than other strollers we test, but the wheels are rubber composite so it feels well-made and durable. It is able to maneuver effortlessly across all types of terrain. It's easy to carry, even when loaded with two kids and shopping bags.

The seat and carrycot both have hoods that can be pulled down to reveal sun canopy extensions that are UV50+. They are showerproof and sturdy, unlike some other prams' hoods that get turned back into toddlers' faces.

It's not the biggest of storage space, however it does come with a huge basket that's large enough to fit a changing bag as well as plenty of groceries. You can also connect it with the Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a travel system for babies up to 20 lb (car seat and adapters sold separately). The City Tour 2 is a good choice if you want to take a stroller on the move.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first came onto the scene, it instantly captured the hearts of parents across the world. It's a frame made of aluminum that will see you through your baby's initial days and beyond. It's got a few notable features, including the possibility of flipping the seat between parent and world-facing, a huge UPF 50+ canopy, an eye-shade that flips out, a spacious basket and adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are durable and filled with foam, which reduces the risk of punctures. The chassis also has built-in suspension that eases the pain of rough terrain. It was easy to push, and our tester was able to maneuver the car through tight streets.

It locks automatically and folds in just four steps. It also stands and can be trolleyed for easier transport in the trunk of your car or down the stairs at home. It also comes travel system equipped with the ability to add a car seat and a carrycot using the adaptors that come with it. The brakes come with one action and are colour coded. They also are compatible with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget single fold pushchair pushchair is extremely easy to use and has excellent dual suspension, a one-hand fold, and a handy carry strap. It's also lightweight and robust. The seat can be reclined into a variety of different positions. It also comes with a double breathable mattress built in that is suitable for babies.

The canopy/seat comes with two large sun visors that are fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn’t ideal because it's not as quiet as Velcro and could cause sleepy babies to wake up.

The Duet is a stroller that can be used side-by-side and can be configured to accommodate twins or other siblings (up to a maximum of 22kg per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and some carrycots. In twin mode, the seats can be placed so that they face each the other. They can also be positioned to face the parents. This should lessen sibling fights over who gets seated with mom and dad. It comes with a massive gear tray, bottle holder, snack trays and a change mat. It also comes with an automatic frame lock and a compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger for parents who love to be active. It is one of the lightest strollers for running that you can purchase for your child. It also comes with excellent safety features, such as the 5-point safety harness and wrist safety strap. It also has a twist hand brake which is different than the lever type that is found on other models.

The seat is very comfortable and provides plenty of space to sit. However the seat's depth is less than that of other runners (it's just 10 inches deep") The storage bin is secured with a zipper that keeps things secure. It can hold up to 10 pounds. It is enough for most diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters for most infant car seats and bassinets however, you can use them starting from the first day with adapters that fit brands like BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It folds down compactly and takes between 5 and 10 minutes to assemble without tools. The manual is easy to read and contains a variety of languages.
