Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles that are used on the majority of doors. These handles are operated by one spindle or two spindles, inline or offset. They are usually used on UPVC double-glazed doors and come in many variations & finishes.

The handles have been tested to the minimum of 200k cycles and are available in various finishes, including White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, which gives the handle a high degree of durability and performance for the intended use.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are commonly used on uPVC doors, but can also be found on other types of doors. They operate by using a key to unlock a cylinder that then reveals pins which can be aligned with the pins inside the lock body, allow them to rotate the cam, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders are available with up to six pins. Doors that are internal and external require different levels of security.

The choice of cylinder you choose is essential. It is based on the use that your doors and handles receive. For instance, exterior doors must be secured with an extra secure cylinder, whilst internal doors can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that can increase security, like anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

A euro cylinder needs to be measured accurately to ensure that it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to each end of the cylinder including the thumb turn if you have one. It is recommended to do this with the lock in place however, in the event that this is not possible, you may remove it to take measurements. It is essential to not have a cylinder that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.

The majority of modern cylinders have been designed with anti-drill and bump resistance features that are built into their design. They are designed to minimize the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to rotate in a new direction. This will help to stop the attack and ensure your doors are secure.

Certain cylinders are made to withstand snapping. This is an increasingly common kind of attack on cylinders, where the break line in the lock is targeted using a special tool to snap off the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. This is a faster and simpler method to gain access than through a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the break-in which can make it difficult to prove insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned within the base of the door handle backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution and returning the multipoint lock handles back to their rest position after usage.
