Like the majority of Roomba models the 980 utilizes a suite of sensors to help navigate your space. The iAdapt 2.0 navigational system maps your home as you move by recognizing distinctive characteristics and generating a map based on pictures that helps the robot to navigate more efficiently. This lets the 980 skip areas it has already cleaned, and it's a lot smarter at avoiding furniture and other obstacles.

The 980 also comes with a suite of advanced cleaning sensor.
