If you're on a budget and don't require a stroller that can double up as car seat carriers, the Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It has a simple one-step foot brake that's flip-flop user-friendly.

It's also easy to push and feels sturdy when you're navigating kerbs and woodland paths. It's also a breeze to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has built a reputation as the ultimate lightweight buggy for city dwellers and jet-setters alike, thanks to its extremely nimble handling and foldable design that can be tucked away in aeroplane overhead luggage. The most recent version comes with independent suspension on all four wheels made of Hytrel elastomer. This allows it to 'perfectly navigate all terrains and types'.

The base YOYO2 frame along with the curved fabric bassinet and the 6+ month color pack form a stylish pushchair that is easy on the eye, with a subtle but elegant design and a tasteful branding. The base frame weighs less than a kilo, and is so light you can lift it from the box using just one hand.

The hood, for example is able to snap onto the YOYO2 in a calm manner. It is also machine washable up to 30 degrees which helps prevent the stains that result from smushed rice cakes and carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram right from birth using the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted into a stroller after 6 months old by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a fantastic choice for parents who are looking for a versatile stroller single wagon. The Evenflo Pivot Xplore can be converted from a stroller to an actual wagon by flipping the handle. Parents can then select which mode is best for their needs. The wagon can accommodate two or more children between 6 months to 5 years old. It has a huge storage basket that can accommodate everything you need when you are on the move.

The Xplore also features dual canopies that move from the front to the back, offering ample sun protection for all family members. It also has a footwell, which is not as large or deep as other wagons, which means it might not be comfortable for longer trips or napping.

The frame of the Xplore feels solid and sturdy, although it does not have as much flex as some of the other wagons we tested. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold and it's not able to lock tight after folding. It is easy to maneuver however, and can be able to fit through narrow 28-inch doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents seeking a second stroller that's affordable. It earned an eye-catching score in our Strollers & Multiples test for weight and folded size that means it's light, compact when folded and easy to put into a car trunk or closet. It also comes with a reclined seat that can be reclined in several positions as well as a cup holder for the parent. Other features worth mentioning include two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling and 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels.

In our test of push and turn it performed better than most of the other strollers that we tested, but it's still not the most maneuverable on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. The sunshades it has were among the smallest of all strollers we test. They only cover the top of the stroller and do not feature peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a much larger canopy.

It took us less than three minutes to put together the Delta with a standard manual. None of the parts required tools. However, it's missing certain essential features that we believe it is important to consider as non-negotiable features for a double stroller like a large basket and reclining seats that have adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is the latest version of Maxi-Cosi's pushchair range and is described as an urban travel system. It is designed to take babies from birth to around 3.5 years, converting easily into a seat and carrycot with a few clicks. It can be used with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a light Mico 30 infant seat, a stay-in-car-base and a reversible baby carriage.

It is really easy to maneuver, and the one-hand reclining of the seat and the massive shopping basket make it simple for parents to get their child in and out quickly. Despite this being quite a narrow pushchair it handled the everyday bumps well and slid through doors without a hitch.

The front wheels can be locked in a forward position or let them swivel which can be helpful when crossing rough terrain. When we walked on the stony path, we let them swivel and it performed well, although it seemed more bumpy than the other models that we tested.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is a household name for their three-wheeled, all-terrain pushchairs for jogging, but they also have a wide assortment of strollers with four wheels. The City Tour 2 is one of their most loved models. It is easy to use and folds down small enough to fit into the car boot, even with the carrycot attached.

It is a bit heavier than other strollers we tried, but the wheels are rubber composite so it feels well-made and durable. It is easy to maneuver on various terrains and even with two children with shopping bags and other things.

Both the seat and the carrycot come with hoods that are able to be lower to reveal UV50and sun canopy extension. They are durable and waterproof, in contrast to other hoods for prams that can be blown back into toddlers' faces.

It doesn't have a lot of storage space, however it does have a big basket that's large enough to fit a changing bag and plenty of groceries. It can also be connected with a Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a traveling system for babies as big as 20 lb (car seat and adapters are sold separately). The City Tour 2 is a ideal choice for those looking to take a stroller on the go.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

Nuna Mixx was a stroller that captured the hearts of a large number of parents when it first appeared. It's an aluminum-framed stroller which can be used from the infant's earliest days through. It comes with a variety of notable features, including the possibility of flipping the seat from parent to world-facing, a huge UPF 50+ canopy that has an eye-shade that flips out, a spacious basket and adjustable handlebar.

The chassis comes with an integrated suspension system that reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are made from tough foam and minimise punctures. Our tester found it smooth to push and was able to maneuver it through tight streets with ease.

It locks automatically and folds in just four steps. It can also be rolled and stood up for easier transport down the stairs, or in the boot of the car. The travel system comes available with the option of adding an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors that are included. The brakes have one action and are color coded. They also work with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is simple to use and has an excellent dual suspension. It folds using just one hand, and comes with a convenient carrying strap. It is also lightweight and durable. The seat can be reclined to many different positions. It also has a double-breathable mattress built in that is suitable for babies.

The canopy/seat comes with two large sun visors that are either fixed or flipped out. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't ideal because it's not as quiet as Velcro and could wake up napping babies.

The Duet is a side-byside stroller and can be set up to accommodate twins or siblings (up to a maximum of 22kg per seat). It's compatible with two infant car seats and even works with a few carrycots. In twin mode the seats can face each other or rotate around to face the parents, theoretically reducing sibling disputes over who should sit with dad and mom. It comes with a large bottle holder, a gear tray as well as snack trays and a change mat. It also has an automatic frame lock and a superior compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger for parents who like to stay active. It's among the lightest running strollers that you can buy for your child and offers amazing safety features, including a 5-point harness and safety wrist strap. It has a different type of hand brake than other models, which is a twist.

The seat is well-padded and offers a large area to sit in, but the depth of the seat is less than other joggers we've tried (it's about 10"). The storage bin is encased with a zipper to keep things secure. It can hold up to 10lbs that is enough for most diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with bassinets for infants or car seats in the way it is, however you can use it from the beginning by purchasing adapters to most seats from brands such as BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It folds up compactly and takes about 5-10 minutes to assemble with no tools. The manual is simple to read and contains a variety of languages.
