It also performs well in CR's tests for cleaning and comes with a self-emptying station. Ecovacs Deebot OZMO Omni is another option that does a good job both on carpet and hard flooring.

iLife V3S pro

The V3s Pro was the least expensive robot that we tested. It still did well in suction tests. It also has a long runtime and intelligent features, such as sensors for cliffs that prevent the robot from falling down stairs or scratching antique furniture legs. It has a map that shows areas that do not need to be cleaned. This can save time and money by avoiding the need for cleaning.

The V3S Pro performed well in the pet hair test. It gathered all of it, without any tangled brush or leftover debris. This makes it a good choice for people who own pets and have a mix of carpets and hard floors. It also performed well in the test of dirt and crumbs and picked up the dust and crumbs we threw on the floor without issue. It also did well in the obstacle tests. It was able to navigate through all the furniture and power cables we placed in its way.

It's designed with a small footprint which makes it easy to maneuver through tight spaces. It has an integrated remote control that is easy to comprehend and use using just one button, unlike some competitors' numerous buttons. This is a refreshing option for those seeking a simpler model. It does lack some more advanced features, such as smartphone control and a display that tells you what it has to do next (like emptying the trash or charge), but this is more of an exception than the norm.

In our lab tests, the V3S Pro finished our cleaning runs in an average of 1 hour and 31 minutes. It has a huge dirt bin that can be controlled remotely via the iRobot HOME app, compatible with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri for voice control. It also has physical controls, including a Dual Virtual Barrier device that lets you mark areas the robot should not enter to protect items like pet bowls or furniture.

Its smart mapping, room-by-room navigation and semi-random navigation are more efficient than the majority of robots that compete with it. This allows it to cover more space per cleaning job. Its high-performance filter prevents dust and allergens from getting into the air when it is operating, which is a blessing for allergy sufferers.

The Roomba i4+ EVO was one of the top-performing vacuums we test when it came to collecting food particles from our kitchen floor and taking coffee grounds off of medium-pile carpet. The cleaning performance on unfinished floors is average, but it excels at cleaning up debris from corners and under furniture. It was able to navigate surface transitions well and did not get stuck on the power cord or any other items that might be straying.

The i4+ EVO also has an exclusive feature to it that other models don't include: the i-series Self-Emptying Dock. This dock empties the device's dustbin into large bagged bin in the charging station. This lets you save time and effort as you don't have to empty the internal dustbin each day.

Roborock Q5+

The Q5+ is a budget-friendly robot that comes with an impressive range of features that include 2700Pa suction power. The PreciSense Precision LiDAR technology creates 3D maps of rooms, allowing it to navigate and avoid obstacles. The app comes with a variety of useful features, such as the ability to personalize cleaning routines and also create "no-go zones". It also provides rapid mapping that lets it cover a large area in a short time.

It is also possible to adjust the height of the brushroll of the robot in accordance with the type of floor and surface. This is a nice feature. In our tests it did a decent job of clearing up debris on hard floors. It had some difficulty on carpets, however. The test on flour was particularly disappointing, as the robot vacuum carpets appeared to push the grain around instead of suck it up, leaving noticeable streaks behind. This is a common problem with robot vacuums that perform well on hard surfaces, but aren't as effective on carpet.

Fortunately, this problem isn't an issue for the majority of people. The Q5+ remains an excellent choice for those who primarily use the robot to clean their carpets since it has a number of other features that overcome this issue. It has three modes: a low-power "Quiet" mode that helps to save battery life as well as an initial "Balanced" mode that is great for hard surfaces, but can be slowed by pet hair or dust on carpets, and a powerful "Max" mode for large debris. The app also allows you to schedule specific times for the robot's operation -- an excellent feature that many other robots do not have -- and it has an ability to store multiple stories of data, which allows it to keep track of the different areas of your home even when you move furniture around.

The Roborock is also easy to maintain. Its auto-emptying dustbin holds a good amount of debris and remains at the bottom of its charging station until fully emptied, so you'll have empty it less often than other robotic vacuums. The only downside is that the bundled self-emptying dock Pure is made up of two pieces and requires a small screwdriver to assemble it, but it should be fairly simple for the majority of users.

Eufy RoboVac Max 11S

The 11S Max is a fantastic robot vacuum for those who are new to the field and technophobes looking to do an occasional clean. It busts dust just as well as the more expensive models and the BoostIQ feature boosts the power when it spots dirtier floors. This is an excellent feature, but it also eats into the battery's life and output (it's more than a distracting sound increase rather than a loud blast). If you use this model in Max mode you'll have about 60 minutes of cleaning time instead of the 100 you'd get in normal mode.

It works well on carpets that are hard, medium-pile or even on floors and isn't a problem with raised edges and transitions. It is also very quiet, and doesn't pick up the sound of TV or music when it's cleaning. If you want to schedule this robot to clean your home every day, it's easy. Just press the button at the top of the unit to start it and then set the hour and minute you prefer with the remote control.

It has a difficult time with low-pile carpets, and its small compartment is easily clogged by hair. The brushes on the rear aren't as big as other Robot Vacuum Mops vacuums. I've had them get tangled up in my long hair several times. The 11S Max is a little slower than some of its rivals, and is not as accurate in laying out an area plan.

If you are seeking an option that is more flexible, the eufy RoboVac 11S can remove pet hair more efficiently on different surfaces than the ILIFE. It also has a longer battery life, more advanced navigation, and fewer recurring costs. It's also easier to maintain than the Shark ION Robot AV753 Series however, that model has a superior companion app, and has better performance on carpets with high pile. It also has a larger dirt compartment, but it's not as adept at handling bulky debris such as cereal boxes. The bObsweep Bob Pro is similarly more powerful than the ILIFE a4s, but it's better-built and has lower costs for recurring use.
