This wet/dry model comes with the upgraded AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which offers enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. It uses dual laser LiDAR that is similar to the one used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan that is up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. That translates into more precise mapping, faster response times, and higher cleaning accuracy.

It also features a rotating mopping pad constructed of chenille fabric. This makes it easier to scrub tough areas than traditional mop. In my tests the X2 Omni took just over an hour to clean its pad and get to work, and I noticed it was much more accurate than other models that were able to follow a grid-like path around rooms. It was able to navigate around corners and edges of my rooms, and also make "Zambani patterns" up and down the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station on a regular basis to empty the dustbin, and wash the mop with hot water, before starting another cleaning task.

I was able dive into the settings and customize my floor plan in about 15 minutes, which included creating zones that are restricted for sweeping and mopping and reworking my furniture placements, and more. The X2 Omni performed admirably during my tests. It scored well in the areas of pet hair removal as well as debris removal, and also had near-perfect results for edge and crevices cleaning.

It's smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under chairs and couches.

This budget-friendly choice from a popular upstart brand is the cheapest robot we've tested yet and offers an exceptional value for the cost. Its basic navigation system uses an extremely basic random pathing algorithm that isn't equipped with room mapping capabilities, which makes it less efficient than the other models on this list. It's still able get under furniture and in the corners. Its mopping mode performed very well in our tests by picking up hairs and other debris.
