The cleaning capabilities of the D7 is impressive. It is able to take up an average of 99.8 percent of Cheerios scattered on the floor This is slightly better than Roomba i7+'s 94.6 percent and the Shark Ion R85's 100 percent. The D7 also manages to maneuver well on bare and high-pile carpet.

A second feature is the option to choose between two different cleaning intensities. The Eco mode runs the vacuum more quietly and prolongs the runtime, whereas the Turbo mode offers more effective cleaning. The Turbo mode is loud and can be irritating when you use the D7 to watch television or work.

The D7 is one of the few robots to create and store multiple floor plans, which is great for multi-level homes. It also comes with a quick boost function that allows it to return to its base, recharge and then resume cleaning. This is particularly useful when you're cleaning difficult areas. Neato's app is simple to use and frequently updated with new features. For the price, this is among the top robots for thick carpet and pet hair available.

2. Eufy RoboVac ElevenS

Similar to the Neato D7, the Eufy 11S is sleek and low-profile. This allows it to get under couches, beds and coffee tables more easily than other robot vacuums. It also has several features that allow it to keep its clean and where you want it be, including no-go lines that you could draw on its virtual maps to stop the robot from removing sensitive areas like pet bowls and beds. It also has an auto recharge and resume feature, in the event that the battery is dead before the cleaning is complete, it automatically makes its way back to its base to recharge and then picks up where it began.

The RoboVac 11S performs better than its predecessor and the RoboVac 30C, which is more eufy, and better than the ILIFE A4s as well as the bObsweep Bob Pro in our tests. Its dirt compartment is larger and has a longer battery time, and it can remove more debris on everything from floors that are bare to carpets that are high and low-pile. It is also built better and easier to maintain and has lower recurring costs and can maneuver itself more efficiently.

The iLife V3s Pro excels at managing household terrain, and it's one of the most affordable models we test. It also did very well in my test for removing pet hair and was able to remove the majority of hair from hardwood floors, and only slightly lower its score when tested on carpet.

The V3s Pro, unlike many other robot vacuums, doesn't use brushes. Instead, it uses two rotating side brushes to move debris toward a 3-inch opening at its base. It's a less reliable carpet cleaner, however, it's still impressive given its cost.

The iLife V3s Pro is also capable of mopping. It was able to do a decent job on floors that were bare and picked up bits of tinsel and mud from my tests. But it's not as Ultimate Ultenic D5s Pro: Powerful Smart Efficient as the top robot mop.

4. Roborock S7

Roborock S7 robot vacuum is a fantastic value. It is a marvel of technology capabilities. The mid-priced model works as well as many high-end models and is easy to operate and maintain. It also has a wide range of features that mimic the capabilities of robots with twice the price. This makes it a good option for someone who is buying for the first time or someone who wants to upgrade from an entry-level model, or anyone who wants to reduce time and effort when cleaning their home.

This robot is as home on bare floors as it is on carpet. Its 2,000Pa suction power can take on carpets with heavy-duty. It can even clean pet hair in crevices and cracks in bare floors. It's well built, maneuvers easily, and works with voice commands from Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to allow hands-free operation. Its battery is smaller than some of the other models we've tested, but it still has plenty of juice for the majority of homes.

The S7 is also a fantastic mopping robot. It comes with a 200ml tank filled with water and a mopping pad that can be easily connected to the robot's back. Add water and a microfiber towel, and the s7 starts mopping your floors. After the mopping is done it will return to its dock and stop automatically.

The companion app is simple to use, and has a slick layout and plenty of features. You can draw a map of your home, set virtual boundary lines that the s7 can't cross, set up zones of no-go areas or simply instruct it to keep a certain room. You can also view its maintenance history, its current status and monitor its performance.

5. Neato Q5 Pro

The Neato Q5 Pro is a versatile Self-Charging Robot Vacuum: Ideal for Hard Floors (www.robotvacuummops.com) vacuum that is excellent on bare floors and clears up a significant amount of dirt on carpets of both high and low pile. It's well-built and comes with a wide range of navigational features. It's also simple to maintain. It has a shorter battery life and has higher recurring costs than other units.

The Q5 is among the most slow robots we've tested but its layout algorithm is reliable and doesn't need any extra attention after the first time it passes through a space. It begins by drawing a perimeter, then fills in the interior using the lines of a series. Once the job is done it is returned to the charging station if it was away from base.

It did a great job cleaning hardwood floors and sucking up at least 88% of dirt for each test. It struggled a bit more on carpets with high and low piles, but it still did better than the average unit. It also has mopping attachments to tackle wet spills, but we didn't test this feature.

Its maneuverability is above average for a robot equipped with lidar, as it is able to softly bump into furniture and other obstacles. Its navigation system is able to detect stairs and multiple floors, which allows it to efficiently tackle multistory homes. It can also recognize individual rooms when you choose them in the app. It also allows you to adjust the power level, create no-go zones, and display an interactive map of the current cleaning area.
