This allows it to clean rooms and avoid obstacles. The iRobot App allows you to alter your cleaning habits and receive suggestions based on the season, your home, and even your personal preferences. (For instance, it may recommend using it more often during allergy season). The high-efficiency filter of the robot traps 99 per cent of allergens, including mold, dust mites and dog and cat fur. It also features a cliff- and edge-sweeping sensor, four brushes (including a side brush two multi-surface long brushes and two long multi-surface multi-surface brushes), and a floor tracker to ensure it stays on its intended path.

During our testing the i3+ EVO was able to clean our floors quickly and efficiently. It was able to move easily from carpets to rugs and then back. It also had no trouble getting over the wooden or metal trim that separates flooring kinds. It did get into a few objects, like pet toys, handbags and shoes, but was able move around them. It also missed a few areas of dirt on our carpeting, though it was able to collect pet hair in other places.

While it's a great option for homes with carpeting however, the i3+ EVO is not as efficient as the competition in terms of collecting crumbs and larger debris. It has a difficult time vacuuming pet hair from carpets and is not an ideal choice for those who wish to have their robot completely replace their conventional irobots vacuum cleaner cleaner. It is also not equipped with the superior obstacles-avoidance capabilities of the top Roombas like the J7+ or S9+, which makes it more susceptible to slipping into pet waste on floors and spread it out.

2. Roomba J7+

This is among the best robot vacuums for those who have carpet, hard floors and carpet. Its best feature is its obstacle detection, which cleverly eludes things like cords, furniture legs, and even pet dander. It also does a really great job at cleaning hard floors and removing long hairs that are stuck in the brush.

In contrast to other robots, unlike many other robots, Roomba J7+ has the ability to alter its suction power. It can be done through the app, which also has a map editor and scheduling feature that work well, as well as a favourites section for your most frequent cleaning tasks. The j7+ also is very quiet, particularly in relation to higher flooring options. It can keep up with vacuuming manually.

As is customary, iRobot's top-of-the-line bots tend to perform better than lower-end models. In our tests, the j7+ managed to collect more dirt on both hard and carpeted surfaces than the 694. 3. Roomba i7+

The i7+ is an interesting machine to observe. It follows a pattern similar to how a lawn care professional trims a field prior to an event. It will sometimes return to the dock to empty its dust bin or charge its batteries. Self-emptying features are a welcome change to the way that most robot vacuums operate and can reduce hands-on maintenance requirements.

It is equipped with a powerful suction, which allows it to easily remove pet hair and dirt. It can pick up the majority of debris on high-pile carpets with only one swipe. It's also able to find areas with high traffic and spend longer in those areas. This is particularly useful when you have children and pets that frequently bring in large quantities of trash from the outside.

Smart Mapping is another great feature. It allows the i7+ to learn the layout of your house and create a floor map that you can modify while it vacuums. It took me four one-hour sessions to fully map out my two-bedroom home, but once it did it was able navigate the space logically and efficiently. You can further modify the map using the app by adding virtual boundaries and giving rooms names. This means you can schedule the i7+ to scrub around the cat's litter box every morning, or stay clear of the sofa in the living area after everyone has gone to sleep.

The i7+ is also equipped with a side brush as well as a tangle-free squeegee that spins that are both great for removing debris that would otherwise be thrown on the ground. It also has batteries that have Recharge and Resume Technology that allows it to take over where it left off in the previous cleaning session.

4. Roomba 694

The 694 is an excellent entry-level robot that is ideal for anyone looking to keep their home clean but without the advanced automation features that the higher-end models provide. It can recognize your cleaning habits and recommend cleaning schedules. It also works with Google Assistant or Alexa voice assistants so that you can start a cleaning session by just giving a command.

The dual multi-surface brushes pick up dirt from carpets and hard floors and edges, while an edge-sweeping tool tackles corners and edges. The battery lasts for 90 minutes and docks back to the Home Base when it runs out.

A large Clean/Power button is in the middle of the top panel with Spot and Home buttons to the left and right. The indicator for the battery's level glows in orange when it is charging and green when the robot is powered to run. The dustbin slides into robot's back, and then it can be released by pressing the button.

The Roomba 694 does an excellent job at maneuvering through floors that are not paved and sucks up large debris like rice and cereal, however it has trouble with fine particles like baking soda. It also tends to overflow the dirt compartment when it fills up. It doesn't do as well on low pile carpets however, it still scores higher than other robot vacuums at this price point.

It is excellent at cleaning pet hair, though some hair strands may get caught around the side brush. Its mediocre performance on kitty litter is also a problem but it still beat the top score of many other robots in this category and beat our most choice for value (the Roborock S4 Max) by 19 points. The 694 is more expensive than the RoboVac 30C, but it is more durable and has less maintenance requirements and incurs lower recurring costs, charges much faster, maneuvers over obstructions with less difficulty and has superior performance on unfinished floors and carpets with high pile. It has a larger bin and can be used even without internet access.

5. Eufy 11s

The eufy11s is among the most affordable robot vacuums available. It's also a great option if you're looking for a reliable and simple machine. This model can clean pet hair, dust and other particles on hard and low-pile floors. It also does a great job of moving around obstacles and furniture. Its slim profile makes it easy to reach under furniture with low clearances, such as coffee tables, couches and other furniture. It is also one of the quietest robot vacuums that we have test-driven.

This is the most basic model we've seen. It doesn't have features that are found in more expensive models. It doesn't come with an app so you'll need to manually set the timer with the remote control. It does not have an indicator for battery level or a dust bin alert. You'll have to manually empty the dustbin when necessary.

This model is very well built and easy to maintain despite its low price. It also has a long battery life and offers decent performance on bare floors as well as when navigating around obstacles. It was able to traverse low-lying obstacles, such as electrical cords easily during our tests. However, it did have difficulty with high-pile rugs.

While the eufy 11s is superior to the ONSON GOOVI, we suggest you go with a more premium option in case you can afford it. The iRobot Roomba 694 is easier to maintain, has lower charges for recurring maintenance, and provides an extended battery life. It also performs better on bare floors and when moving around furniture, and comes with a much larger dustbin.
