World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For instance, a weapon with the upgrade template ending in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the item upgrader kit's level rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to give a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item upgrade must be at the very least upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix, modifying the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using less Upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure how much it will be improved following a reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it's possible that the item will become obsolete or even break if the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that increase or even eliminate the chances of failure, and some upgrades that offer an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within a radius around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels.

In the endgame you'll find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced again are the most popular. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values that it can improve a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in key places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to boost the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level requires a different amount of components, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is leveled up.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original Item Upgrader Kit is replaced with a new item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set of bonuses. This can be a disadvantage in that it could make the item more expensive, even if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to be able to do so. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with an initial level and a completely different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good idea but it shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants buffs when the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the max roll by 10 points. This item is highly useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of the unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to go to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained like chances to be crit damage to attack, additional effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in the chance of crit the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its base value. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items may require different upgrades than standard gear. For example they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will need to take each piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade will require a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
