Bagless Self-Cleaning Robots

Robot vacuums are fantastic for general automated cleaning. However, they can't get into every corner. Bagless self-emptying bases solve this problem.

These bases are intelligent and can hold weeks' worth of dirt and other debris So you don't have to worry about emptying your robot. They will alert you when they are full.

Eureka E10S

The E10S is a fantastic option for homeowners who want to reduce time and effort while fighting the daily accumulation of dirt, pet fur and other debris. The robot vacuums and mops. The owners can set up cleaning schedules, designate levels, and define specific rooms and zones. It also comes with a powerful vacuum and mop motor with 4,000Pa. This ensures a thorough cleaning even on the toughest flooring types. It is bagless cutting-edge vacuums, eliminating the need for bags to be replaced while also facilitating easier maintenance with a clear debris container that allows users to easily be aware of when the container is full and requires emptying.

Another nice feature is the E10S's base station that has advanced multi-cyclonic separation technology that allows for efficient debris removal and avoids premature filter clogging. This makes it more durable than other robot vacuums which depend on disposable bags and leave behind a mess wherever the base is. This unique feature, paired with the E10S's large 1.5L transparent debris bin allows users to quickly empty the cleaner and ensure that the system is running smoothly.

Contrary to some of the less-capable models that rely on random bounce-and-turn navigation methods, the E10S uses LiDAR to map your space in near real-time. It can then create an intelligent, self-navigating path that is more efficient. This is even more important in larger homes with multiple rooms because the E10S is able to effectively avoid having to clean areas it has already been to.

The Eureka App offers a high-level of functionality and a user-friendly interface. It allows you to create and save maps, identify rooms and define no-go zones and no-mop areas to prevent the cleaner from accidentally going upstairs or into the kitchen area. A manual control mode allows you to direct the robot around, and you can also create cleaning schedules.

The setup process is fairly simple with only a few steps needed to get the E10S running. It comes with a charging dock and there is a helpful tutorial that will guide new users through the procedure. Although there are a few minor issues it's a great device. E10S is a great accessory to any home. It will save time and effort while also keeping floors tidy.

The SwitchBot Mini K10+

The SwitchBot Mini K10+ packs a lot of features within its small frame which makes it a great choice for small homes and apartments. Its outstanding cleaning performance earned it top marks in our tests on debris removal, edge cleaning and crevice cleaning. Its navigation and mapping capabilities were also exceptional as the robot was able to avoid obstacles when moving furniture.

This robotic vacuum and mop is among the few in its class to use LiDAR SLAM technology. This makes it capable of creating detailed maps of the rooms in your home. It also boasts 10 flagship level sensors, so it can navigate even the tightest spaces. Despite its smart capabilities, it requires minimal energy for cleaning and is extremely efficient.

The application that controls this robot is well-designed and easy to use, with a clean interface. The main screen displays information like the status of the dust bin, mop and filter pad plate. You can also create highly customized schedules as well as set cleaning modes and create reports in the application.

You can also designate no-go zones to prevent the robot from entering certain areas of your home. This is useful for those who want to protect your robot from areas that aren't safe for it, such as an area for pets or a kitchen. The app also allows you to monitor the battery and make sure it is charged for optimal performance.

After the robot has finished cleaning, it automatically returns to its Station to charge. The station can be moved from room to room when required, however it can be somewhat loud when sucking up what was collected before returning to the charging dock.

When you remove the K10+ from its packaging, there are some physical requirements to meet. This includes the removal of any padding from gaps and crevices. You should also position the machine close to a power outlet. To connect to the app, you'll require an excellent WiFi signal. Accessories include a spare mop pad, side brush, and filter that can be used as a spare. They're an excellent addition to the robot since they give you extra convenience and reduce the amount of time you spend swapping out equipment.

The Shark IQ XL

The Shark IQ XL offers an impressive amount of smart features and is reasonably well-built for less than $400. It's a better robot than the less-than-smart RoboVac G30. It feels more comfortable to use and performs better on low and high pile carpet. It also does a better job moving around obstacles like electrical cords.

Its battery life is excellent it can operate in its high-suction "Max" mode for more than an hour. The large bagless base station is also easy to clean. You just take the side bin off and empty it into the trash can, no need for special bags for cleaning or hassle. The IQ's companion application allows you to send it to specific rooms, restart the session where it started if it needs to charge a portion of the way through, and plan multiple cleaning sessions in one day if needed.

When we tried the IQ XL, it did great on hard floors but struggled with medium-pile carpets that were prone to apprehension of larger crumbs and sometimes pushing debris into corners where it was not supposed to be. This is mainly due to the side brushes of the robot, which can sometimes swish dirt away or fail to funnel it in, and partially due to the fact that it travels in straight lines instead of zipping around like more advanced robots.

If you want the IQ XL to be able to block certain areas of your home, you can designate zones that are not allowed to be visited by dragging boundary squares into the application. These boxes can be a challenge to draw and tweak. We prefer the option of virtual walls.

Another feature we loved on the IQ XL is the ability to select an Ultra-Clean option, which doubles the suction power of the robot and stretches its brushes across floors in an alternating crosshatch. This is particularly beneficial for high-traffic areas however we're disappointed to see that it's not available on all of the company's current models. You can set a schedule that will automatically trigger an Ultra-Clean cycle in any room in your home.

The Shark Matrix

Shark's ION series robot vacuums are one step above the rest with their LIDAR mapping capabilities and self-emptying bases. However, the Matrix elevates the experience to the next level by offering mopping and vacuuming in one.

Like most robotic vacuums, the Matrix can be used as an upright cleaner or set to scrub and agitate your floors with a powered pad to give your floors a more thorough clean. It can also be used in mop and vacuum modes, which employ the same cleaning pad for both cleaning your floors and removing any stubborn dirt or stains. The matrix's powerful cleaning mode is particularly effective on carpets, where it uses a matrix grid to take multiple passes across dirt and debris to provide 30% better stain removal than Roomba robot vacuums.

The Matrix is also much easier to use than a modern Roomba. Setting a spot cleaning zone is as simple as dragging a square on the designated tab in the Shark app, whereas Roomba owners must manually create and name the specific cleaning zone on their map. Additionally, the Matrix has an actual power button in case you're looking to start cleaning without having to open the app.

Other features for quality of life are included with the Matrix it comes with three suction power modes (normal Eco and high-power 'Max') and recharge/resume functionality that allows it to start where it left off in the event that it needs to return to its dock. The battery life was a bit higher than the AI Ultra's and its overall performance in removing debris from a variety surfaces was excellent.

shark-ai-ultra-2in1-robot-vacuum-mop-witThe only drawback of the Matrix is that it drains battery more quickly than other models and its performance for cleaning pet hairs is not consistent. It's still an excellent option for most households and the Matrix improves on the AI Ultra in several key ways. It feels considerably better built, recharges faster and provides superior debris removal on carpets with low pile. Additionally, its Eco and Max modes are a great improvement over the AI Ultra's 'Normal' mode.
