This model is equipped with Ecovacs' new AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that provides improved mapping and obstacle avoidance. The system is dual-laser LiDAR -- similar to what you'll find in self-driving vehicles and is able to scan an area of up to 32 feet wide by 270 degrees. This results in more precise mapping, faster response time, and greater cleaning accuracy.

It also features an adjustable mopping pad made of chenille fabric, which makes it much easier to scrub difficult areas unlike traditional mopping. In my testing the X2 Omni took just over an hour to wash its pad and begin work. I also noticed that it was much more accurate than the previous models, which were able to follow a grid-like path around rooms. It was adept at navigating my rooms by the corners and edges as well as make an "Zambani pattern" that ran up and down the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station on a regular basis to empty the dustbin and clean the mop with hot water prior to beginning another clean-up job.

Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is simple to set up and start using. Simply snap the dock into place then plug it in and pair it with your home WiFi network. It takes just a few minutes. It is the most sophisticated of the T-line from the company and features the new OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system, which utilizes a dual-spinning brush for superior cleaning than conventional scrubbers. It also has YIKO, which is a natural language processing system that is the first of its kind. This allows it to respond to various voice commands. You can make use of the ECOVACS app to map your home, create cleaning schedules, and adjust settings.

The main flaw of the T10 Omni is that it cannot switch between mopping and vacuuming in a single operation. The T10 Omni has two modes that require you to attach mop heads and take them off according to your needs. This is great for the majority of households, but not so for those who lead busy lives.

However, the Deebot Omni is an excellent robot vacuum and delivers impressive results in our tests for pet hair. It was able to remove more than 96% of debris from our hardwood flooring. This is a fantastic performance. It did a great job on tiles and carpets, removing the majority of dirt.

This robotic mop and vacuum comes with large docking stations which offers cool water cleaning for its mop pads, automatic emptying into a 3L disposable bag that is easy to replace, and hot-air drying for quick and easy maintenance. It also has a huge water tank that allows for more frequent rinses and dry between mopping runs.

The Deebot T10 comes with a wash tray built into its base, similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to wash and dry the mop pads when it is using them. However, it doesn't come with a removable tray, which means dirty water, dust and other grime builds up in the bottom of the tray over time.

3. RoboVac X8 hybrid

While Anker-owned Eufy is well known in the world of robot vacuums This model is the first foray into the world of mopping. It comes with enhanced smarts, multiple map support, and LIDAR scanning, along with twin-turbine suction technology that adjusts to the surface you're cleaning. It's a mid-range cleaner that's appealing even if its claim of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning doesn't make sense.

The X8 Hybrid appears to be an ordinary robotic cleaner from the top. It has a circular shape with sweeper wheels and a raised sensor area. On the other hand you'll find a motorized floorbrush and a single side brush that pushes dust from the edges to the main path of its' mouth.' It's smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under chairs and couches.

The mapping system is quite sophisticated that allows you to create no-mop zones as well as specific cleaning zones. However it tends to get into things (including its own charging dock) and isn't always great in negotiating rug. It was great at picking up pet hair from the floor. In our tests it was able to pick up 89.5% kitty litter.

The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, however it also has physical buttons at its base. These buttons allow you to select a cleaning mode or turn the robot off/on. You can also use them to set no-go zones as well as see real-time maps. It's a bit chatty too, and will let you know what it's going to do next ("start cleaning") or alert you that something's wrong (it does not have enough power to charge, for instance).

In our test of hardwood floors and kibble the robot performed very well and was able to pick up everything from a single grain of rice to several pieces of dog food in just one go. It had some difficulty transitioning to carpets, however, in general, this vacuum cleaner is great for rooms that have different flooring types and a variety of pets.

It's not cheap but if you're able to handle the cost it's an excellent buy for those who want to leave their home free to do other tasks or to take care of chores. The A4s Pro also offers a useful auto-cleaning mode that automatically increases suction power to deal with difficult spills and dirt, and it includes a battery-powered ElectroWall which allows you to define boundaries where the robot is not allowed to be allowed to enter.

This budget-friendly robot from a renowned new brand is the cheapest we've ever tested and offers incredible value for the money. The basic navigation system employs an extremely basic random pathing algorithm that isn't equipped with room mapping capabilities, making it less efficient than the other models on this list. However, it's still able to reach under furniture and in corners and its mopping mode was very effective in our testing, picking up stray pet hair and other debris effortlessly.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not be as sturdy as the Roomba S9, but it does a better job overall in getting rid of pet hair from all surfaces. It gets rid of floors with less thoroughly and does a fair job on carpets with a low pile and uses smart-pathing navigational technology for better maneuverability. It can be directed to a particular area and includes a variety of advanced automation features including no-go zones and schedules. It even lets you stop and restart the cleaning process, so it's perfect for homes with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll helps prevent knots from pet hair and other debris and its self-emptying dock station can hold up to 30 days worth of dirt before it needs to be emptied. It also comes with a set of angled side brushes that penetrate into corners and its multi-stage filter system is able to capture dust, dander and allergens for cleaner air.

The robot vacuum feels sturdy and well-constructed, and it comes with an app for smartphones that lets you change the settings for your vacuum and plan cleaning times in advance. The app allows you to view the remaining battery life of the iQ and also receive push notifications in the event of any problems during a cleaning session. You can control it with your voice using an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't own either of these devices you can mark the boundaries of your area with physical boundary markers strips.

The iQ is good at cleaning bare floors and it does a decent job on shaggy and low-pile carpets. However it's not able to provide the same level autonomy as our top choices. It's also costly and the recurring costs can become expensive over time.
