The BOB Sport Utility

The BOB Sport utility is a great stroller to choose when you want to get off the beaten path and get some exercise. The jogging stroller has pneumatic knobby tires that are perfect for trail runs, and hand brakes that let you control the downhills. It also features a state-of the-art suspension system and a two-step folding design and a huge cargo basket. It can also be used with a baby car seat if you buy the appropriate adapters.

This jogging stroller's biggest flaw is its weight and dimensions when folded. It weighs 25 pounds and folds to 17,850 cubic inches, which is about average for this group of strollers. Its large footprint is not suitable for tight turns or small trunk spaces. However, it does have an incredibly small handle on the back of the storage bin that can be pulled to collapse the stroller into a compact, flat position.

This stroller is easy to maneuver despite its size. The front wheel is equipped with an locking mechanism that lets you switch it between normal and locked jogging mode, and the handlebar is adjustable in height to accommodate different heights of parents. It has a large seat which can be reclined to almost flat, as well as a large window made of vinyl.

The lockable front wheel can be unlocked when strolling and locked for jogging. The large storage basket is able to hold essential travel necessities.

Consumer Reports' Strollers test program confirms that the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger is a good value for its cost and is better than many of its competitors across several categories. This includes the ease of using the 5-point harness that folds and unfolds and adjusting the backrest, activating the brakes on the wheel and infant car seat removal and installation (only for compatible models). It's a basic design and a one-handed recline that's deep enough to allow napping. However the canopy cover, which ratchets, isn't easy to fix. It also takes almost 8 minutes to set up and the directions are confusing due to multiple languages and confusing illustrations.

The only drawback to this jogger is that it doesn't have suspension, so the ride may be bumpier than some of the other all-terrain strollers we've tried. This could be difficult for children with small hands especially if their nap is about to start. It does have tires that are filled with air but they don't have the same shock absorption as the rubber wheels you find on strollers that are more expensive.

This is a great choice for those who don't intend to run often, but want to move over gravel and grass without difficulty and without problems with curbs, or other obstacles. It is an excellent choice for families with limited space as it folds down into a compact unit. It's lighter than many of the other joggers we've tested and can fit into places where larger strollers can't.
