It sends a message to the ECU through a grey wire T55/49, then to the tachometer located on the instrument cluster.

1. Engine Speed Sensor

It is located on the outside of the transmission above the flywheel ring gear G28 Engine Speed Sensor sends signals to ECU pin T55/49 via a grey wire. The ECU utilizes this information to regulate the amount of fuel and boost. It also sends an alert to the G5 Tachometer within the instrument cluster.

The sensor serves as a reference for comparing with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu needs to be aware of when the crankshaft has reached TDC and also the location of the camshaft to trigger the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will display an error code P00160. This indicates that the Crank Shaft is not in line with the Intake Camshaft. It could also indicate a chain stretch or a jumpy chain link in the upper chain. The code won't show without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).

Testing is a bit challenging since there are two connector pins, and they have different functions but the best method to test it is to measure the resistance between the sensor and the ECU. When the sensor is fully operational, it should read around 1000 ohms. If you're experiencing issues with this part, check for signs of oil or coolant in the connector bay.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, when i was accelerating to the fullest speed from highway paytoll i had massive power loss like the engine is running out of gas or the injectors aren't firing at all. Today, i pulled out the spark plugs, 3 were drenched in gazoline, the 4th one was dry. When i crank the engine without sparks, I put a piece of tissue on top of each injector hole and the 3 that were drenched in gazoline leap out, however the 4th stay shut. I checked the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55/30/55/48/55/14/55/48/ I got zero Ohm. So i assume the problem is somewhere else.

I also tried to reset the PID but without success. The car can start if the G28 is disconnected and is running fine when it is connected, but still has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for the coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature of that is -49c even after unplugging it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars while the actual pressure is zero.

I'm not sure what to do. I think I've eliminated everything else. I'm concerned that i may have missed something. Let me know If you have any suggestions! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump on the g28 is activated by a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter functions similarly to the G4 sender, and both operate on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily locate an extra in a wrecking shop or a parts store. It is simple to test them - simply put your DMM into resistance mode and determine the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump at the connector's end facing upwards). They should be infinite ohms.

4. ECU
