They're easy to open and close, but I found their textured plastic coatings a bit difficult on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a full suite of features you'd expect from a fridge at this price, including Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and lets you control your refrigerator from anywhere in the globe. It also comes with many options for customization. It also sends you notifications when doors are left open, when the refrigerator or freezer is in need of defrosting, and when it's time to change the filter.

It would be nice it GE PYE22PYNFS offered Precise fill which is a feature available in a handful of GE refrigerators that allows users to set how many cups they want to dispense. The fridge displays a countdown timer to display how much water is left, but it's not as effective as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The fridge was rated the best refrigerator in our Refrigerators test for several reasons. Its freezer temperatures remained constant at just above 0° Fahrenheit and never changed more than a tiny fraction - this is essential to avoid freezer burn. The top shelf on the right can be folded down to give tall items more room. You'll also find a full width drawer for deli and an inside water dispenser.

The refrigerator comes with an ice maker making it easy to move the frozen ice whenever you need it. The freezer also comes with innovative design features like sliding drawers that can help you organize your items. It comes with a large bin to store frozen food items, and a separate bin for Frydge ice.

Smart InstaView panel is another awesome feature of the refrigerator. You can manage the temperature, lighting, and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It's a nice method of monitoring and managing your refrigerator, particularly if you're away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat however it doesn't enhance the performance of the fridge. In fact it took longer to defrost and chill food in this fridge than other refrigerators we tested. This could be due to the larger capacity.

The doors are another problem with this refrigerator. The handles with a sunken design allow smaller people to open them from the bottom. However, taller people still have a difficult time closing them without slamming. It would have been much better if they had a front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a excellent choice for those who want to combine the benefits of a French-door refrigerator's aesthetics with a more efficient layout. It has a capacity that is superior to counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also a little less than the most expensive counter depth refrigerator that comes with an ice maker, which makes it a great choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

During my tests, I found that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different areas of the fridge. Temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge did not vary significantly from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a pretty good performance however it doesn't make it into the top ten in our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also pair this fridge with a smart thermometer for more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.
