The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs line of robot vacuum mop hybrids. This model is equipped with Ecovacs' new AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that offers better mapping and obstacle avoidance. The system is dual-laser LiDAR similar to the kind is used in self-driving cars -- and can scan up to 32 feet wide by 270 degrees. This translates to more precise mapping, faster response times, as well as better cleaning accuracy.

It also has an adjustable mopping pad made of chenille fabric, which makes it easier to scrub hard areas unlike traditional mops. In my tests the X2 Omni washed its pad in just a few seconds and then got to work. I noticed that it was more accurate than other models which seemed to follow the grid of rooms. The X2 Omni was astonished during my tests, scoring excellent scores for cleaning pet hair and debris cleaning and near-perfect results for cleaning crevices and edges.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The EcoVACS T10 Omni is an extremely powerful vacuum and mopping machine. It is the most advanced of the brand's T-line and features the latest OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system which uses dual-spinning brushes for better cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbers. It comes with YIKO, which is a natural language processing system that is the first of its kind. It can respond to a variety of voice commands. The ECOVACS App allows you to design your home, create cleaning schedules, and alter settings.

The biggest con with the T10 Omni is that it can't switch between mopping and vacuuming in a single run. The T10 Omni comes with two modes that require you to attach and remove mop heads in accordance with your needs. This is great for the majority of households, but not so for people who have a busy schedule.

However, the Deebot T10 Omni is an excellent robot vacuum that has impressive results in our tests on pet hair. It was able to remove more than 96% debris from our hardwood floors. This is a remarkable performance. It also did an excellent job on tile and carpet cleaning up more than 99% of dirt and debris.

3. RoboVac X8 hybrid

This is the first mopping model from Anker that is renowned for its robot vacuums. It has improved smarts, multiple map support, and LIDAR scanning, along with twin turbine suction technology that adjusts to the surface you're cleaning. It's a tempting mid-range robot vacuum cleaner although it can't exactly live up to its promise to be a one-stop shop for floor cleaning.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a standard robotic vacuum cleaner from the top, with its circular shape with sweeping wheels, as well as a raised space for sensors. On the other side, you'll see a motorised floorbrush and one side brush that moves dust from the edges to the main artery of its' mouth.' It's also a little chatty and will tell what it's going to do next (start cleaning) or alert you when something isn't right.

This high-tech vacuum model is able to pick up pet hair, kibble, and other particles with impressive efficiency. It also moves effortlessly around furniture legs. It comes with a feature set that is impressive, such as two cleaning modes and an automatic docking station, and real-time obstacles avoidance technology. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for large homes with hardwood carpet and floors, but it requires some planning ahead to avoid getting stuck by toys, power cords or other obstacles that might be unexpected.

In our hardwood floor and kibble tests it performed well and picked up everything from one grain of rice to several pieces of dog food in one go. It had some trouble with rugs however, generally, this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large rooms that contain different flooring types as well as a mix of pets.

It's not cheap but if you're able to manage the price, it's an excellent buy for those who want to be able to leave their homes hands-free to go about other tasks or take care of chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that boosts suction to get rid of tough dirt or spills. It also comes with a battery powered ElectroWall to establish boundaries for the robot.

This budget-friendly choice from a popular upstart brand is the cheapest robot we've tested to date and offers an incredible value for price. The basic navigation system employs an extremely basic random pathing algorithm that isn't equipped with room mapping capabilities, making it less time efficient than other models on this list. It's still able to navigate under furniture and into the corners. And its mopping mode performed very well in our tests, picking up stray hair and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ isn't as well-built as the Roomba S9, but it does a better job overall in getting rid of pet hair on all surfaces. It cleans floors that are bare more thoroughly and does a fair job on carpets with low pile, and it uses smart-pathing navigational technology for superior maneuverability. It also allows you to transfer it to a particular area, and its advanced set of automation features include no-go zones and scheduling. It allows you to stop and restart cleaning sessions making it ideal for homes with pets.

Its self cleaning brushroll prevents tangles and can carry up to 30 day's worth of dirt. It also has an array of side brushes that are angled to go deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system can capture dust, dander, and allergens for a cleaner air.

This robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It works with a smartphone application that lets you change the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning times ahead of time. The app also lets you see the remaining battery life of the iQ and send notifications via push for any issues it encounters during a cleaning session. You can control it using your voice with an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices, you can mark areas with physical boundary markers strips.
