It has many of the same features but does not come with the advanced navigation that those more expensive models have.

It's great at cleaning bare floors but not so much for carpeting. It is great on laminate and tile flooring, and comes with a cleaning head that can fit into corners. The i1 also has an automatic dirt-cleaning compartment and dust, meaning you don't need to manually empty it every time the space runs out. It's fairly easy to maintain, though you do have to empty out its brushes on a weekly basis. Its vSLAM navigation system utilizes cameras instead of laser sensors, which means it takes longer to determine the location of rooms and doesn't recognize furniture like the more expensive Roomba models.

If you have a problem, iRobot will offer replacement parts at no cost for a full year if you join its iRobot Select program. The plan comes with restrictions. It doesn't cover theft, mysterious disappearance, or loss.

iRobot I7+

Watching the Roomba clean a floor is fascinating however, the way the i7+ does it may be even more amazing. The i7+ is logical and methodical, unlike the smaller Roomba 690 or Eufy RoboVac 11s that bounce around the room like pool balls and are snagged under furniture. It starts by vacuuming in rows across the floor, and then it moves around the edges of rooms. If it's out of power or its dirt bin fills up, it pauses and returns to the place it stopped when it's recharged. It also keeps a recurrent map of the room, meaning that it doesn't matter if furniture is moved or re-arrange a space the i7+ will adjust its map each time it cleans the area.

The i7+ can be controlled remotely via the iRobot Braava Jet M6 - Advanced Smart Mapping Robot Mop Home App, without having to be physically present. You can schedule cleaning sessions for certain rooms, or even create virtual boundaries to ensure that the Roomba is not in certain areas. The i7+ is significantly more expensive than the 981, but it has superior performance on floors with no flooring as well as a bigger dustbin and the capability to automatically empty its dirt compartment into a larger dirtbag that is built into its charging dock. The iRobot S9+ or Baby Rocky, as my 3-year old son calls it, does a great job of cleaning floors that are bare. It gets rid of a variety debris and has the best suction we've ever seen in a consumer robot. It's very luxurious and has a long battery life, allowing it to clean up a large area without running out of power.

It uses iAdapt Navigation 3.0 with vSLAM to understand the house's layout and to create personalized Smart Maps, which allow it to navigate effectively. Imprint Link technology is used to automatically mop after vacuuming. It's the only iRobot robot that has the D-shaped body of the robot. This lets it be closer to corners and edges compared to traditional round robots like the Neato Botvac D7.

We found the iRobot to be simpler to use and more intuitive than its predecessors. It works with voice commands using Alexa or Google Assistant and has a variety of settings that can be adjusted that allow you to alter its cleaning power. The iRobot App also allows you to create a list with the rooms you want to clean. This is useful in situations where you need to have your robot focus on a specific area.

Our only complaint with the S9 is that it can sometimes smack into things like power cords and toy strings. It can also be noisy when vacuuming and occasionally gets stuck on larger obstacles like couch legs. It never lost power mid-clean and then returned to its dock to forcefully vacuum the dirt into a storage container. This self-cleaning and docking function is a major improvement over earlier iRobots that needed to be manually emptied every time they were used.

This helps to avoid cleaning time, missed spots and frustration that comes from getting lost or stuck.

Navigation and obstacle detection performed effectively in our tests with the robot able to recognize thin chairs legs and the like. It could get caught in socks or cables that are lying on the ground. This is avoided by turning off object recognition feature within the app.

Some people are concerned about privacy, but we experienced no issues with the Dreametech L10s Ultra camera. The privacy policy of the company is clear: they do not store any photos from your camera. You can disable the features of object avoidance and room recognition in the app, in case you don't want these features enabled.

5. Eufy 11S

The Eufy 11S robot vacuum is a stripped-down model that collects fine dust and large particles from hard surfaces. It's a great option for light daily cleans to keep your home clean of dust, but it's not as effective in cleaning edges and corners. It is easy to use and has a variety of automated cleaning modes. It doesn't come with an app, which means you aren't able to create virtual barriers, monitor the life of your accessories or look over cleaning history. The 11S is a great choice for those looking for a basic robot that's affordable and easy to use.

The 11S is a low-profile model with a height of just 7.2 cm. This makes it possible to fit under furniture with a low profile, and easily overcome doors. It has large and stable wheels that let it easily handle carpets and high pile rugs. The dirt compartment on this model is bigger than the other models. This means that it needs to be emptied more frequently. The remote control allows you to change a variety of settings including power modes and automatic programs. The 11S also has an edge cleaning mode that can be manually controlled and a spot cleaner. The 11S can also be connected to its charging dock using the included zip tie.

In comparison to the ILIFE A4s, the eufy RoboVac 11S is better at clearing pet hair off floors and struggles less with large debris.
